Coffee beyond the algorithm
The best coffee
you’ve never
heard of.
We scout micro-roasters in underrated cities — places the big subscription boxes don’t go — and ship their most experimental beans straight to you.
Our philosophy
We go where the
big boxes don’t.
While mainstream subscriptions repackage the same crowd-pleasers, we’re in the back alleys of Oaxaca, the port towns of Vietnam, the mountain villages of Ethiopia — finding roasters with under 50K followers who are doing something genuinely different.
Micro-Roasters Only
Under 50K followers. No mega-brands, no mainstream picks.
Experimental Beans
Unusual processing, rare cultivars, boundary-pushing roast profiles.
Underrated Cities
The coffee scenes nobody's talking about — yet.

This month’s roasters
Meet the people behind your next cup.
Three roasters. Three cities. Three completely different ways of thinking about coffee.
Circuito 6 Tostadores
Operating out of a converted machine shop in Medellín’s Distrito Creativo, founders Lucia Velez and Tomas Arango built a roasting program around one conviction: Colombian coffee should not have to leave Colombia to be treated with precision.
La Loma Electric Sunset
72-hour anaerobic natural · Light roast
Lantern Hill Roastery
Lantern Hill began as a weekend pop-up at a ceramic studio, where founder Narin Chaiyasit paired pour-overs with hand-thrown cups. The coffee felt different — roasted with unusual delicacy, described with the calm specificity people usually reserve for tea or perfume.
Doi Saket Moonwater
Honey · Light-medium roast
Mar de Fundo Coffee Lab
Founded by siblings Ines and Duarte Figueiredo after years working between specialty cafes in Porto and green buying trips across Europe. They opened with a six-kilo roaster, a tiny training bar, and a menu that treated espresso and filter with equal seriousness.
Ribeira Tide
Washed · Light roast

What people say
Loved by the curious.
I’ve been a specialty coffee nerd for years, and Drift Roast still surprises me every single week. The roaster from Medellín last month? Life-changing.
Finally, a subscription that doesn’t send me the same Ethiopian Yirgacheffe every other box. These are beans with actual stories behind them.
The Rare Drops tier is absurd — in the best way. Last month I got a competition-winning Gesha that sold out in hours at origin.
Our story
Built for drinkers who want real discovery.
Drift Roast started with a simple frustration: every coffee subscription seemed to rotate through the same names, the same cities, and the same safe picks. Great coffee was being reduced to an algorithm.
We kept asking — where were the roasters outside the usual orbit? The tiny teams roasting astonishing coffee in places that never make the trend pieces. The shops building local followings in cities better known for design, nightlife, or ports than for specialty coffee.
That gap is why we exist. One month takes you to a hillside roastery in Medellín, the next to a narrow street in Porto, and the next to a workshop in Chiang Mai. Not tourism. Not hype. Real scenes, real people, real flavor.
Our mission
Spotlight micro-roasters in underrated coffee cities and bring their work to people who care about flavor, craft, and context.
